Pricing questions
What happens after my 7-day Captain trial?+
Your account converts to the Explorer free tier automatically — no charge, no surprise bill. You can upgrade to Voyager or Captain at any time from your account page.
Can I switch plans later?+
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period so you keep paid features through the time you've already paid for.
Do I need a credit card to start?+
No. Explorer is free and the 7-day Captain trial on signup does not require a card. You only enter payment information when you decide to subscribe.
What does "~$250 / vessel / month" mean for Fleet?+
Fleet pricing is volume-based and depends on fleet size, integrations (AIS feeds, ERP, vetting), and SLA. $250 / vessel / month is a typical starting point for fleets of 10–25 vessels. Larger fleets negotiate down. Talk to sales for a quote.
Is there an academic or non-profit discount?+
Yes — 50% off Voyager and Captain for accredited academic researchers, oceanography programs, and registered non-profits (sail training, search-and-rescue, marine conservation). Email sales@navisight.io with your institutional affiliation.
How is billing handled?+
Monthly and annual subscriptions are billed via Stripe. Annual plans receive an invoice you can pay by card or ACH. Fleet contracts can be invoiced annually with net-30 terms.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes — full refund within 14 days of your first paid charge, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are pro-rated for the unused portion of the billing period.
What payment methods do you accept?+
All major credit and debit cards (Stripe). For annual Fleet contracts: ACH, wire transfer, and check.
Where is my data stored and who can see it?+
Vessel profiles are stored client-side in your browser. Voyage analyses are computed server-side and not persisted under your account unless you save them. API keys for upstream weather providers are server-side only — your browser never sees them. Fleet customers can request an isolated tenancy.
